Asian Development Bank

Statistical Database System (SDBS): is the Asian Development Bank’s central statistical database that stores macro-economic and social data of its developing member countries (DMCs). The SDBS data come from statistical contacts that are mostly national statistics offices and central banks of the DMCs. SDBS also store data from other international organizations' databases and websites.

SDBS has annual data, from 1975 onward, on:

  • national accounts, prices, government finance, trade, balance of payments, money and banking, external debt,
  • population,
  • labor force, and
  • social indicators

Other member countries' data on selected economic indicators as well as quarterly and monthly data of some indicators are also available. SDBS is updated continuously and new series are added based on emerging demands.

Health

MeasureDHS

http://www.measuredhs.com/What-We-Do/Survey-Types/index.cfm

Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS) are nationally-representative household surveys that provide data for a wide range of monitoring and impact evaluation indicators in the areas of population, health, and nutrition.

STATcompiler

STATcompiler: Create maps for hundreds of indicators from DHS surveys - at national or sub-national levels for many countries. Customize maps and export for presentations or reports.

HIV Spatial Data Repository

HIV Spatial Data Repository: GIS users can integrate their own GIS data with the DHS HIV/AIDS indicators data. Data are provided at the sub-national level in shapefiles.

Agriculture and Food

FAOSTAT

FAOSTAT provides time-series and cross sectional data relating to hunger, food and agriculture for approximately 245 countries and 35 regional areas from 1961 through the present. It also offers an innovative tool, FAOSTAT Analysis, for basic statistical analysis of the data. It offers users with:

  • a comprehensive global collection of statistics on agriculture;
  • comparative analysis tools of sectors, commodity, country and regions;
  • easy download and visualization of data and indicators

IFPRI

IFPRI Datasets | In collaboration with institutions throughout the world, IFPRI is often involved in the collection of primary data and the compilation and processing of secondary data. The resulting datasets provide a wealth of information at the local (household and community), national, and global levels. IFPRI freely distributes as many of these datasets as possible and encourages their use in research and policy analysis.

Climate

World Resources Institute (WRI)

The Climate Analysis Indicators Tool (CAIT) by WRI is a set of comprehensive and comparable greenhouse gas inventories, together with other climate-relevant indicators. CAIT has been used to analyze a wide range of climate-related data questions and help support policy decision making and discussions under the Climate Convention and in other forums. International and the US datasets are available.

United States

This dataset includes U.S. state and national economy-wide emissions of the six major greenhouse gases including CO2, CH4, N2O, and F-Gases (PFCs, HFCs, and SF6) from most major sources and sinks.

  • All totals exclude GHG emissions associated with the land use, land-use change, and forestry sector and bunker fuels.
  • Data Units:
    • Emissions: million metric tons (tonnes) CO2equivalent (MtCO2e)
    • Per Capita Emissions: metric tons of CO2equivalent (mtCO2e) per person
    • Emissions Intensity: metric tons of CO2 equivalent per million U.S. dollars (mtCO2e/million $US)
  • Data Coverage:
    • States: 50 U.S. states, District of Columbia, U.S. Total
    • Gases: CO2, CH4, N2O, F-gases (HFCs, PFCs, SF6)
    • Years: 1990-2009
  • Citation: World Resources Institute, Climate Analysis Indicators Tool (WRI, CAIT). 2012. CAIT-US version 5.0. Washington, DC: World Resources Institute. Available online at: http://cait.wri.org

International

This dataset is derived from the following sources: IEA, CDIAC, EPA, EIA, and EC-JRC/PBL. The latest version of the dataset includes greenhouse gas data through 2007 for most countries of the world.
